Saturday Rides

All Club Rides on Saturdays are from the Gyffin meeting place LL32 8LR. There is a car park behind the convenience store adjacent to the departure point if you wish to bring your bike by car. New riders are always welcome.
Steady Ride

“Social Ride” Great for beginners or people who are coming back to cycling

Starting Point
Bottom of Gyffin Hill, Conwy at 09:00hrs.

Speed & Distance
Normally averages 13–14mph or at the pace of the slowest riders.
Standard route is approx. 34 miles.

Route options
Back roads to Caerhun via Rowen and then via Dolgarrog and Trefriw to Betws-y-Coed for a café stop at either The Spinnaker (Betws y Coed) or ZipWorld Fforest of approx. 40 minutes (bring money for tea and cake). Return to Conwy via the same route or via an alternative from Betws-y-Coed if requested by some of the riders.

Intermediate Ride

This is generally ridden at a quicker pace than Ride 1.

Starting Point
Bottom of Gyffin Hill, Conwy at 09:00 hrs.

Speed & Distance
Normally averages 15–17 mph or at the pace of the slowest riders.
Mileage of the route ranges from 40 – 60 miles.

Route options
The route usually heads towards Betws-y-Coed and further into the Snowdonia National Park, but it can vary along the coast some weeks. Details of individual rides will often be put up on our Facebook page a few days beforehand. Even if no ride details are posted in advance, please meet up at the above places / times, and a ride will be agreed by whoever is there on the day.

All members are encouraged to post suggested rides – it’s very easy: just think about where you want to ride and put the suggestion up on the Facebook page!

Sunday Rides

Proposed routes listed below (please note, these are suggested routes only,the final route will be posted on Facebook the Thursday before the ride, taking account of the weather forecast, or decided by those out riding on the day)

Starting Point
Rhos-On-Sea Tourist Information Office LL28 4EN, opposite the Caley Arms Pub.  Depart at 9 AM.

Speed & Distance
The Sunday rides are harder and faster than the Intermediate Saturday rides, and are therefore best suited to more experienced riders. Distances and pace will increase from spring into summer.

Normally 16–17mph or at the pace of the slowest riders.
Standard route is anywhere between 60 – 100 miles.

Route options

We ride all over Snowdonia National Park and along the North Wales coast line. Some times we will ride to Anglesey. If you have a suggestion for a Sunday ride, please suggest it on our Facebook page.
